Tennessee Walking Horses mature quicker than many other breeds. A young two or three year old can sometime have such a great disposition, that anyone can ride him. They have the ability to enter the show ring and win and then go out on the trail and be and excellent ride as well.
Many people with back problems find the Tennessee Walking Horse to be extremely comfortable for long periods of time, going on 4 or 5 hour trail rides with ease. The Tennessee Walking Horse obsorbs all the concussion in their smooth gait allowing for many people with back problems, hip problems, and knee soreness to still enjoy a good trail ride.
After raising Arabian Horses for 20 years and having to wait till they were three to be ridden, I found the Tennessee Walking Horse a real financial pleasure because you can enjoy them at the age of two, so when they are three they are well broke and a real pleasure.
We are really pleased to see many people in the later years still enjoying going on long trail rides for years to come because of the smooth gait of the Tennessee Walking Horse
